Bike Ride with the Trails Team!

Description

Celebrate National Trails Day with a biking adventure in Schuylkill County!

Location

25 Kernsville Dam Rd. Hamburg

Date & Time

Saturday, June 6th 10am to Noon

Celebrate National Trails Day with a great, scenic bike ride on the Schuylkill River trail!!

We will meet at Kernsville Dam Recreation Area and provide their own bike for the ride. We will all ride north along the SRT to the Auburn Gap Bridge where we will turn around and return the recreation area. We will be stopping on the way out to look at the Port Clinton area where we will share some behind the scenes knowledge on the Appalachian trail gap there and what it could mean for the SRT.

After the event, the trails staff will travel to Copperz Brewery to share a drink with everyone. Unfortunately, this event will not provide a free beverage for all those who attend but it will be a chance for you to meet other volunteers and learn more about the other happenings within the National Heritage Area.

Please join us if you are comfortable riding the 16-mile loop (the trail is rail trail and is generally flat). Once we have returned to the recreation area we will all get back into our personal vehicles to travel to the brewery or to go home at our own discretion.

Hangout at the Copperz Brewery after the ride is, of course, optional, but we hope everyone will join us!

Please dress for the weather and in what is comfortable to ride in for the duration of the distance. Everyone who attends should bring their own water, but additional water bottles will be provided at the beginning and end of the ride.

Everyone who attends is expected to supply their own bike for the event - no bikes will be available for rental.
