Trinley to Phoenixville
Event Location: This Pedal & Paddle event will begin in Phoenixville at the Black Rock Boat Launch, located at 1059 Black Rock Rd, Phoenixville, PA 19460. There will be a staff member from Schuylkill River Greenways and Take It Outdoors to help direct you to the parking area. Plan to arrive a few minutes early to confirm all necessary waivers have been signed.
Event Description: This Pedal & Paddle program is a paddle only adventure from Trinley to Phoenixville. This event begins at the Black Rock Boat Launch in Phoenixville. We will start with check-ins, introductions, and hop onto the TIO shuttle bus to take us up to Trinley. Upon arrival, we will have a paddle safety briefing and begin your 7-mile guided paddle down the Schuylkill River. During this excursion you will see all the beautiful scenery and wildlife. When you arrive back in Phoenixville, we will gather around with our camping chairs (provided) and have a box dinner. All gear, certified guides and food are included. Must be 16 or older to participate. All events limited to 15 participants.
What to Bring: All equipment, including kayaks, paddles and personal flotation devices (PFDs) are provided. However, it is recommended that you bring the following items.
- Prefilled water bottle with at least 32 ounces of water per participant
- Sunscreen
- Insect repellent
- Hat & Sunglasses
- Water shoes or old sneakers (backless sandals and crocs aren’t recommended)
- Dry bag
Any items, such as cellphones or keys that you do not wish to bring on the water with you, can be left with staff prior to the start of the event.
Itinerary: Please note all times are approximate.
4:30PM – Check-in, introductions, and shuttle up to Trinley
5:00PM – Safety briefing and PFD check
5:15PM – Begin 7-mile guided paddle down the Schuylkill River
7:30PM – Arrive back at the launch to have dinner.
