Fall Foliage Bike Ride
on the Bartram Trail Section
Event Location: This Pedal & Paddle event will begin at Kernsville Recreation Area, located at 25 Kernsville Dam Rd, Hamburg, PA 19526. There will be Schuylkill River Greenways and Take It Outdoors staff member to help direct you. Plan to arrive a few minutes early, to confirm all necessary waivers have been signed.
Event Description: This biking only adventure will be taking you down the Bartram Trail Section of the SRT in Hamburg. This excursion is a 7.5-mile round bike ride, will give you the opportunity to take in all of the beautiful fall colors, landscapes, and wildlife! As you are taking in all the colorful fall foliage, you will also ride by where the SRT and the Applalachian Trail meet! We will then eat lunch on our new Auburn Bridge before heading back down the SRT. All gear, certified guides and food are included. Must be 16 or older to participate. All events limited to 15 participants.
What to Bring: All equipment, including bikes and helmets are provided. A box lunch will be served. However, it is recommended that you bring the following items.
- Prefilled water bottle/s with at least 32 ounces of water per participant
- Sunscreen
- Insect repellent
- Sunglasses
- Bike helmet (we do have extras if you don’t have your own)
Any items, such as cellphones or keys that you do not wish to bring on the water with you can be left with staff prior to the start of the event.
Itinerary: Please note all times are approximate.
10:00AM – Introduction and bike safety briefing
10:15AM – Begin guided bike ride on the Schuylkill River Trail
11:00AM - Arrive at the Aubrun Bridge for lunch
11:45AM - Head back down the SRT
1:00PM – Arrive back at the Kernsville Recreation Area
